Things to Know

Before Getting Tattooed or Pierced

Please let your tattoo artist or piercer know about any health issues that may impede the work we are doing. Also, make sure to eat something a couple of hours before coming in. Getting tattooed or pierced on an empty stomach may cause fainting, dizziness or nausea. Proper hygiene is extremely important before and after receiving a tattoo or a piercing since we will be breaking the surface of your skin.

A government issued photo ID is required by law, we cannot assist you without it.

Tattoo Appointments / Walk-Ins

Walk in tattoo clients are serviced on a first-come-first serve basis. However, for your convenience, we do offer appointments for clients requesting a specific artist or for those looking to have more extensive pieces done.

We cannot book your appointment or give quotes over the phone! Unless previously discussed with your artist, we will not book appointments over the phone and all appointments require a deposit.

We can not schedule a tattoo appointment if you don’t know what you want! The artist must see the artwork in order to determine how long the tattoo will take to complete, thus determining how long of an appointment you will need. It is also imperative that your artist knows exactly what you want prior to your appointment time. This way you’re not using the scheduled tattoo time for artwork preperation.

PLEASE do not walk-in and expect to be tattooed immediately. our artists strive to provide the highest quality artwork for each & every client. Time is needed for artwork preparation, especially on larger pieces. It is to your benefit to give your artist as much advance notice as possible.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to allow time for your paperwork completion and any additional artwork changes. If you’re unable to keep your scheduled appointment or if you’re running late, please call so that we may accomodate other clients.

Group Walk Ins

We are always happy when you and all your friends come in to get a tattoo or piercing, however please understand that our scheduled appointments take priority over walk-ins and we may not be able to get to all of you in the same day. After every tattoo / piercing, we are required to break down our stations, wipe down and allow 10 minutes in between each and every client. With set-up and tear down times you can expect approx 15-20 minutes in between each client.

Tattoo Touchups

Touch-ups for tattoos that have been done at Old Anchor are free for one year.

We will not perform any service (tattoo or piercing) aside from ear piercing for anyone under the age of 16.

For minors receiving a tattoo or piercing with parental consent, we require photo identification of both the minor and the parent as well as birth certificate. In the case of legal guardians, we will required court papers to prove guardianship. Only a parent or legal guardian with the appropriate court paperwork can consent for a minor. This means aunts, uncles, older brothers and sisters can NOT consent for a minor. A written consent form must be filled out on the premises & signed by both the parent or legal guardian & the minor child. Minors without a government issued ID can bring in a school photo ID.

In the case of scheduling a tattoo or piercing we will require the above mentioned paperwork and the parent/legal guardian to be present. After we have copies of identification, birth certificate and paper work filled out, the parent/legal guardian does not need to be present for the appointment. However, no changes to the tattoo being received or location of the piercing can be made without the parent/legal guardian being present.

We will not perform any genital or nipple piercings on minors and likewise will not tattoo any area not covered by normal clothing. This includes arms below mid-sleeve, hands, neck and facial tattoos.

Children & Old Anchor

Please understand that a tattoo shop is an ADULT atmosphere. Children under the age of 12 are prohibited and, while we do our best to accomodate when children are in the shop, please note that you may be exposing your child to adult language, music and atmosphere.

Drugs & Alcohol / Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to any client that appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Pain killers, aspirin, ibuprofen, and aneshtetics are not required prior to being tattooed or pierced. In fact, most will usually compromise the experience and may possibly cause problems, such as increased bleeding.
